Instead of using butter in warm sauces, create sauces by slowly drizzling in olive oil while your Oster
®
blender is on.
To find out if oil is the proper temperature for frying foods in your Oster
®
Deep Fryer, try this trick: drop a cube of white bread into the hot oil. If it browns evenly in:
60 seconds, oil is 350-365 degrees
40 seconds, oil is 365-380 degrees
20 seconds, oil is 380-390 degrees
To make 1 cup of cookie or cracker crumbs for pie crusts, use:
Gingersnaps: 20
Graham crackers: 20
Vanilla wafers: 35
Puree in an Oster
®
Food Processor.
Allow meat to stand at room temperature 1 hour before cooking - this will shorten the cooking time and the meat will brown evenly.
To chop or finely grind nuts in an Oster
®
Food Processor without turning them into a puree, add 2 tablespoons sugar into the jar.
Use your Oster
®
Food Processor to quickly make fruit ices. Freeze the fruit mixture overnight in a shallow metal pan, the next morning put it in the processor and pulse until smooth, working in small batches. Refreeze and serve.
