FUNCTION
Valentine's Day is one of romance and love. Plan a special evening in for you and your
honey, or even an intimate party with your closest friends. If you have no sweetie,
that's okay! Celebrate the love of family and friends and, of course, good food!
AMBIANCE
- Decorate your abode with the V-day colors of love. Use red, white and pink in your color scheme for table dressings, candles and flowers. Use strawberries or red raspberries as beautiful and edible centerpieces. Fill silver or glass vases to the brim with red or white roses and pink carnations.
- Serve up dessert in an oversized wine or martini glass. It's enough for two to share!
- To keep with the theme, serve funky beverages. Grenadine is an additive that will have your drinks seeing red. You can also try pink lemonade or other festive fruit juices that can be found at your local grocery. Serve in a clear glass for the full color effect.
- For fun in larger parties, place V-day fortunes at your guests place settings. Such as - "This year you will be lucky in love" or "Close friends are always near." Sign these encouraging notes from Cupid.
- Use store-bought children's Valentine's for whimsical and humorous place cards.
FEAST
Whether its dinner for two or twelve, make a delectable and delicious meal that you can
savor in the company of your closest friends. For two, spoil your taste buds with
Pecan Encrusted Trout with Avocado Salsa. For larger occasions dazzle them with
Mini Crab and Goat Cheese Empanadas with Mango Chutney.
Don't forget the sweets for your sweet. For a twist on the traditional box of chocolates try whipping up an extravagant
Chocolate Waffle with Coffee Ice Cream and Espresso-Caramel Sauce.
If chocolate doesn't satisfy your sweet tooth try a different after dinner indulgence. Give
Vanilla Peach Chill or
Wild Berry Cobbler with Lavender and Vanilla Ice Cream
a whirl.
