Thanksgiving, Christmas parties, family get-togethers - there are plenty of ways that the holidays can lead to you splurging on seconds and enjoying dessert, but these aren't good for your workout routine. So instead of digging down on pecan pie and feeling bad about the next day, get proactive and kick off your new workout routine before the holidays even start.

If you don't already have a vacation on the books, start looking for airline deals to give yourself motivation. Wanting to look and feel good in your bathing suit can be a powerful motivator for each crunch, plank and rep.
3. Enjoy the scenic outdoors
In many parts of the U.S., autumn is the most beautiful time of the year. Beautiful orange, red and yellow leaves make a great excuse to go for a run, bike ride or hike that'll burn calories.
