Just OK
Pros: Heats up and cools down quickly, non-stick and lightweight
Cons: Plates are non-removable, doesn't lie flat, hard to clean, drip tray plastic feels cheap
I liked this grill but didn't love it. My biggest complaint about the product is the fact that the plates aren't removable. It makes it awkward and difficult to have to clean, especially the top half. It would be great if the plates could be taken off and put into the dishwasher. I think that this grill is fine but is a little too limited for what I want. I would recommend it to someone who was just learning to cook or a person who wanted a very basic grill.

Changed the way I cook for my family!
I have been using the Oster Extra Large DuraCeramic Panini Maker for about a month now. It has completely changed the way I cook for my family. It allows me to prepare all their favorites such as grilled cheese, pancakes/waffles, and hamburgers in no time at all. It's easy to clean, easy to use and it adds a little bit of fun to the mundane task of cooking dinner. I definitely recommend this to anyway who cooks for their family, especially if they have kids. I have to rate it 5 stars for durability, capability, versatility and fun. Disclaimer: I received this product as a sample. I did not buy it in stores but I have tested it.

Great Non-Stick Panini Maker
I have had this panini maker for about 2 weeks now, and I'm very pleased with it. I love toasted sandwiches; usually I would toast 2 pieces of bread, assemble my sandwich, then put in the microwave for about 20 seconds. This panini grill does the same job and eliminates a step. Instead, I can just assemble my sandwich, toss it on the panini maker, and it not only does it toast the bread, but it also warms the contents of the sandwich and melts the cheese. It's non stick, so stays very clean and there is never any food left stuck to it. I received this product as a sample to review. My one complaint, though, is I'd like it to have removable plates so that I can immerse them in soapy water to clean.

Great product for healthy, tasty food
I wrote a review already, but it's not showing up so here it goes again. I received this product as a sample. I would buy this product and recommend it to friends and family. It's really high quality. The grill is sturdy. It doesn't look or feel cheaply made. The ceramic plates are easy to clean. Food doesn't stick to them. I've made sandwiches and burgers on it. I've even cooked a pork chop! I like that I can raise the back side up and the grease drips down into the drip pan. It makes healthy cooking easy. I know I will use this product a lot during winter when it's too cold to use the outdoor grill. I keep it sitting on the kitchen counter. The shiny metal and black colors look nice sitting out. Food gets cooked through evenly. It heats up fairly quickly. The grilling surface is large enough to cook two good sized sandwiches. If you buy this product you will not be disappointed. There are hundreds of recipes online that you can make with this product. I can't wait to try more.

Love the Panini Maker!
We bought our Oster Extra Large DuraCeramic Panini Maker 6 months ago. After extensive research, we selected this product for its large cooking area (2 or more full sized sandwiches can be made at once) and for its DuraCeramic surface (other non-stick coated products are a danger to, and cannot be used around, our bird). I also trust the Oster brand.
We've used the Panini Maker almost daily and love it! It's easy to operate; it pre-heats quickly; it grills evenly and consistently; and clean-up is a breeze. Burned-on cheese literally wipes off with a paper towel. We believe this is a quality product, a good value for the money and highly recommend it.

Do Not Buy
This is the worst panini/grill I've ever used - primarily because it is a nightmare to clean. The grill plates are not removable nor are they non-stick so we literally had to put the grill in the sink to clean it, we probably damaged some of the electrical components in doing this... What did we cook? Unseasoned chicken.
Additionally, the cooking knob provides no indication of what temperature you're cooking anything at... just low, medium high... what does that even mean? Save your sanity and do not buy this unit - we're throwing it away because it's not even worth burdening someone else with its uselessness.

useful addition to my kitchen
I recently received the panini maker in order to review it. I found it to be very useful in addition to making paninis crispy and hot we really enjoyed how the unit opens up to become a gril. we made some excellent grilled salmon and grilled veggies on it. The ceramic plates are easy to clean and the overall profile of the unit is small enough to be useful but doesn't take up too much counter space. I think the temperature knob could be a little more aggressively marked as it is sometimes a little difficult to see. All in all this was an excellent addition to my kitchen and is of the quality I have come to expect from Oster

My whole family loves this!
My family includes myself, my husband, and my two sons aged 9 and 10. Our whole family loves to eat sandwiches and one of my favorite things about this maker is that it is big! I can make panini for our whole family on it, all at once. I also love that it has a variable heat setting, allowing for the panini to be cooked more slowly, so that the ingredients inside have a chance to heat through before the bread burns. Also, the cooking surface is very easy to clean. My sons love to make their own sandwiches and experiment with different fillings. I have yet to have the opportunity to use this as a grill, but plan to this winter! Note: I received this product as a sample to review.
