Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your $$$ and buy something else I bought this months ago as a gift for my husband's birthday and gave it to him 2 nights ago. It opened 2 bottles of wine and then needed to be charged again. So put it on charger overnight. Last night I went to open another bottle and it would go in the cork, then stop... nada... ziltch... it didn't have enough power to finish the job. On top of that, while trying to get it to open the wine bottle, the button popped off and wouldn't go back in so I had to put a rubber band over it to keep it in place. This was a complete waste of money!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't charge I bought this about two months ago and only used it successfully one time! After charging the unit, I opened my first bottle. I was worried right away because it barely mustered the strength to remove the cork. Fast forward to my second use. No charge whatsoever so I recharged the battery.... at least I attempted to. Took no charge and will not work at all. Very disappointed because I previously had a silver model which worked well. Unfortunately I cannot find the receipt so I suppose I am out of luck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly constructed, breaks easily Had my unit a short time when the nylon piece in which the corkscrew is embedded broke and the corkscrew fell out. The way the thin nylon forms around the spring creates a thin weak spot which breaks easily.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a happy ending. We have had the opener for a while and were happy with the way that it performed until it stopped charging recently. After trying different outlets, etc. I discovered that one of the contacts on the base of the opener itself had disappeared. Without that contact the opener is useless since it can't be charged. I am sure it is out of warrantee but I expected better quality from Oster. (I have another opener from another maker which is about the same age and going strong).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sticky outside I have had this opener for awhile and it has worked great. Recently, when I went to open a bottle of wine the black rubbery part was sticky. I tried cleaning it and it didn’t get any better. Is there something I should try to remedy this?
