Hi - just received this as a gift. The canister doesn't seem to sit firmly in base. The bolt connected to engine seems elevated and keeps the canister lifted about a half inch from base. Is that how it's supposed to be?

This is certainly not the experience we want you to have and we'd like to make sure that we can help you perform the step-by-step troubleshooting procedure. Please try the troubleshooting steps below: Line up the tabs of the jar with the tabs on the blender base. Make sure the tab of the jar on the left side is at the back of the tab of the blender base, and the tab of the jar on the right side is at the front of the tab of the blender base. Make sure the jar is seated in its proper position. Your unit has a 3-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly in order to help you with a warranty verification. Have a good day!

Is there a reason that the motor wouldn't sound good from the time that it is taken out of the box? It blended ok from the start but not great as the motor didn't sound the greatest.

After following you advice I ordered replacement part 31014904000. It does NOT work with this model! The base of the blades is 2.5&quot; while original is about 3.8&quot;! Not to mention that original blending part had 6 blades, but this one comes with only 4. Do you want to take another look at your product and give me a correct part number? Would be greatly appreciated.

For proper installation onto the blender motor base, make sure the locking lever rotates past the anti-rotation tabs on the blender jar. We hope this helps. Have a good day!
