All parts except for the blender base are dishwasher safe. Place sealing ring in bottom basket of dishwasher.

And now the traditions continues and this is my second blender and I love my16 speed blender. But I recently noticed that the blade while using the blender was kind of skipping (the best I can describe it) and when I checked I noticed the black plastic base of the jar was cracked (broken) and I was so disappointed and upset especially when I tried to find it in stores as they no longer carry the 16 speed blender. This blender is a necessity in our home and in our culture for making our sofrito and of course other things. Please Help!!!! Also I can use and need a lid replacement too!!! HELP

I had purchased a pair of personal Oster smoothie makers a few years back, and I use them religiously! I was excited when I received this new Oster blender as a gift. I took my blender out of the packaging, added my ingredients (according to the instructions) and after a couple of seconds of blending, my brand new blender began to smoke and immediately shut off! I waited a few days and tried it again, but that was no use! It still would not turn on! Is there a problem with full-size Oster blenders? While this blender says it can be used for mixed drinks, salsa, etc., I'm not even putting anything hard, like ice, in it! This is really frustrating, especially when I'm trying to incorporate blended/pureed ingredients into my meals. It's also quite disappointing, as I've always put such faith in the quality of Oster products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Indira from Work horse! My previous Oster freezer safe blender I had for just about 5-6 years when my kid sister broke it. It killed me. I got this as a replacement. Let me tell you, although I don't use this everyday, I am very satisfied with it. When I use it, I would use it in one day, for maybe 6 hours at a time! (Giving the motor a rest every thirty minutes to an hour.) Working with appliances pretty much all my life, I learned to get proper use and longevity from them requires care and maintenance. So one can imagine my disappointment, and heartbreak when I used my blender yesterday and noticed the jar base is cracked! And it still looks brand new, and unused. I don't trust compatible parts. They may or may not work. :( I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Too bad I didn't know this came with a 10 year warranty, and a 3 year guarantee. Thank you Oster, for 11 years!

Rated 3 out of 5 by SUSANITA71 from ok blender-not great this is my 3rd oster blender over about 45 years or so...the last one worked well for a long time and then the buttons started sticking so i had to jiggle and mess with them to get it to work...the motor was ok, but the blade connection would only turn slowly and the whiole thing leaked..i thought,ok i will just get another oster (first one i had was a wedding gift-lasted a few years)i ordered the one i have online from amazon after looking at many brands and other osters,wanting to get a medium grade one that was multi purpose and not too expensive..to this point (i have had it a week) i have used it 3 times and the motor is really strong,the ice crushing is ok but not as expected,and it blends well ..the fast/slow switch came off the first time i used it,but i was able to put it back on (cheaply made i want to add),and the other buttons seem ok..i did not want the hassle of returning it for just that small thing..in any case,i am not givng the blender a full 4 or 5 stars because of the smallish problems i have had so far..thank you..(this is the "new" updated look with the silver plastic-should have been stainless)...
