Rated 4 out of 5 by Charlie1986 from Pretty good blender. Base isn't sturdy. I received this product as a sample to review. Good points: it is small and can be left sitting in the counter. I do this because I use it evey morning to make ice coffee. It can crush ice, make smoothies, and salsa. It easy to screw the blade attachment on and off. The buttons are easy to read and it had quite a few bleeding speeds and functions. The bad: it's hard to put the cup and pitcher down into the base. You have to line it up just right and snap it down. The base is wonky. It doesn't feel sturdy and it rattle about if you don't keep a firm presses down hand on it. Tl:dr, looks great, blends nicely, but needs a more sturdy base.

I love to make smoothies and have been searching for a blender that would make a smoothie at the right consistency and this one definitely does the job! I love how the blades turn different directions which is why I think it chops things up better then other blenders I have.The only thing that I didn't like was that when the blender is going real fast it will move and if you aren't careful where you out the blender or if it's close to something it may fall off counter or can knock something off. I would recommend a sturdier base. I received this product as a sample review to try.

I primarily use blenders for making smoothies, and this is great for making smoothies, for many reasons. For one, it has a smoothie-to-go cup, which is great for single serving smoothies. It also has a large jar for making large batches of smoothies. My favorite feature is the dual direction technology. The blades will spin in both directions, so the blender can power through thick smoothies. There are several different settings for this blender for different uses, which is nice. This is a stylish looking blender and seems pretty durable. Overall, this is a quality, value blender for the price.

Let me tell you, it's the best thing since "sliced bread" not that I didn't like my ninja, I just didn't like the plastic jar when I had to blend things that required extremely hot water. What I didn't expect was for the Oster to also out perform my ninja, everything I did with it just hands down out performed my ninja from smoothies to milkshakes and food processing. I had this baby for about 4 months now and I am LOVING IT! I use it everyday and it is absolutely the best even when it comes to the price. So, do not hesitate to purchase the Oster 1200 Plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by strange_steve from Awesome ! (but can use some improvement) First the thing is great! I love the back and forth motion of the motor. The unit is very noisy, but its definitely a powerful motor. Perhaps a bit too powerful - as the main spine that sticks up worked loose, sadly the threads were the only thing holding in in place (it wasnt also pinned). Another disappointing thing were the smootie cups there is a gap between the inside part of the cup and where the threads are molded in, regeretablly food gets stuck in there making it hard to remove and one there it gets stuck and spoils, making the smoothie cup less than hygienic. Dont get me wrong this blender is awesome just hoping the main spine could be pinned as well as threaded into the top.

In addition to the thin "pin line" that gathers dirt (mentioned in a review above), my cup leaks after a few months of use. The cup is so much more convenient than using the big glass blender but, unless they redesign it (no food catcher rim, sturdier plastic to stand up to the blender use and the on/off threading), I'm not sure a parts replacement will help for the long haul. The processor was also a little disappointing because no matter how I tried, it seemed to chop everything super fine. One pulse means uneven chunks, a few pulverized it. It does make GREAT smoothies when it's working properly.

It's the best, much better than our previous Vitamixer, and more versatile. We are having a small problem with the blender motor "stalling out". All it takes to get it going is to take the blender off the base, turn it off, and turn the motor by hand a half turn, and then the blender will work again. No biggie, but an annoyance. Does anyone else have this problem? Other than that this is the best blender and food processor combo for the money we have ever had, and we've had quite a few!

Since receiving it, I have made salsas, hummus, a fruit smoothie, and banana ice cream. The chopping system is magnificent, with awesome results. The ice cream and smoothie that I made were pureed so smoothly. I also loved how the salsa turned out. I could see big chunks of tomato without it turning to mush. Overall, I love ho attractive this sits in my kitchen. I would compare this to the Ninja at a fraction of the price. The smoothie cup is also an added bonus. Thank you Oster for making an attractive and affordable blender. Disclaimer :This blender was given to me to test and review. I would absolutely recommend this.
