Care & Maintenance
Base: First turn the control to “Off” and unplug the power cord. Then wash outside surface with a damp soft cloth or sponge using mild soap and warm water. Never immerse the motor base in water or other liquid. Lid & Filler cap: Separate the 2 pieces and wash in warm soapy water. Rinse clean under running water, then dry.
Jar: Fill the container half full with warm water and add 2 drops of liquid soap. Close the jar with the lid and filler cap. Turn Speed Dial to a “Low” speed and then increase to “High”. Run for 30-60 seconds. Turn the machine OFF, rinse

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works for three months, Oster won't honor warranty Bought this 21 months ago and it saw light duty at first. Six months ago, wife and I started making smoothies with frozen fruit almost everyday. Three months into that, the bearing in the jar went out; it was loud, too slow to blend effectively, getting very hot, and spewing oil out from under the jar. I contacted Oster and got a replacement within ten days, no questions asked. Three months later, the exact same thing happens. Now when i contact Oster, they say that they've never covered the jar, but they sent it to me as a courtesy. I'm attaching the warranty below - its only two paragraphs and doesn't mention the jar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Jar broken within months I was super excited to get this blender after doing a ton of research on a high quality but cheaper model. I got it around Christmas '16 and have used it probably 8 times over the last few months I have had it, and there now seem to be 2 cracks in the base of the jar that lead to the metal blade housing. I went to make a smoothie and liquid started dripping out all over my counter after a minute of blending since I had not noticed the problem previously. I have taken excellent care of the blender and only use it for smoothies, and I have hand washed the jar each time of use, so I am not sure how this would have happened. I am very disappointed, I thought this was going to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Oster Versa Blender! I have been looking for a restaurant grade blender for a long time, that was affordable. That left the 2 that you hear so much about out of the running. I've used them each though, and seen the demonstrations at the big stores, and want what they provide, at a price I an afford. Enter my Oster Versa, on sale at Tuesday Morning, powerful warranty and all. WOW! I use it daily, and more, and am totally pleased with it. I pack the jar with all the ingredients for my breakfast super smoothie, every morning, and it takes care of every element, even the seeds. Smooth and delicious!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Jar leaks after 10 uses Wife loved it the first 9 times she used it. Used on the 10th time and the small clip that holds the drive gear on the bottom of the jar in place snapped. Jar leaks now. Wife was making smoothies with little ice...Not killing it. Amazon won't return because I'm 2 days past 30. I spent roughly 5 hours shopping for a cheaper alternative blender to the Vitamix. If I paid myself $50.00 per hour for my research time plus what I paid for this junk I would have a Vitamix. Don't' cheap-out like I did!!! Now I have to try and get a new one through warranty. I just love quality stuff and spending 3 hours on the phone. If Oster will contact me and send a new jar without a 3 hour tour, I'll remove this post.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flawed Jar Design - No Warrantly Support Been using this for 4 years, nominal daily use. The 2nd jar just failed, same as the first. A jar will last about 2 years with modest home use, then the bearings in the shaft at the bottom of jar will fail. When it does, there is no warranty support. As evidenced by the number of same failures noted in other buyer's reviews (see here and at Amazon), the design is obviously flawed, and Oster provides no support for their defective design. To make it worse, the replacement jar seems never to be in stock, so now I have a beautiful useless blender motor. See the comments on the replacement parts page (people have been waiting for months, still no replacement).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful & Dependable I originally bought a Blendtec and was very disappointed. My entire kitchen filled with smoke everytime I tried to use it. I returned the Blendtec and got the Oster Versa 1400 after reading many reviews. I am so happy with this machine! It pulverized whole fruits & vegetables with ease. I have made amazing smoothies and soups with no problems whatsoever. I was surprised and impressed with the extremely smooth consistency it produces. No pulp or chunks. Professional grade blender for sure. Great blender/food processor, and almost half the price of Blendtec!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only one thing I don't like about it Love this blender - my wife and I purchased one a year ago now and it still works great. I do get frustrated sometimes when I want to make only a few servings of a sauce, and the bender jar is so wide that anything under a cup and a half or so won't blend since there's so much room for the ingredients to fall under the blade. Love the low profile jar, but wish I had the option to buy a thinner jar for those occasions! Would love to get a new lid, as well, actually. The rubber seal band came loose within a few months of use. Nothing leaks, but that seal isn't really there anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't recommend Price is too high for what you get. Numerous reviews have mentioned defective seal on lid which hinders getting a tight seal. I'm experiencing the same issue and to make it more frustrating, Oster wants to charge me for a replacement lid. Warranty only covers basically the motor. What's up with that? Honestly, my older cheaper blender did a better job than this one. I've always had trouble getting this model to make smooth and creamy shakes or smoothies (and I'm no beginner). The bottom of jar is also difficult to keep clean.
