Product Instructions
Care & Maintenance
To clean blender jar, combine warm water and 1 – 2 drops of liquid dishwashing detergent in blender jar and run on lowest speed for 10 – 15 seconds. Empty jar of soapy water into sink. Rinse jar thoroughly with clean water.

New Oster blender; locked blades and rusty motor!?
I've had the blender less than a year and have used it about eight times. It always smells like overheating electrical issues when I use it, and need to loosen the blades before I start because they're always stuck, locked, and won't turn without being pried loose.
Seizing of the blades between uses has also been an issue with my past Oster blenders, so I'm resigned to it being a necessary step in using Oster blenders.
When putting the blender away recently, I noticed what looked like a rusty motor inside the case so I got a flashlight, and sure enough, what should have been shiny chrome was severely rusted.
I can state with total certainty that nothing I did, nor allowed to occur, created an environment which would allow the rust to form.
So, I can only conclude that Oster assembled rusting/rusty parts and shipped them out as new.
The review site wasn't functioning properly so I could not upload any photos of the rusted motor.

To properly place the jar into the base, please follow the steps below. - Place the jar assembly onto the base. - Line up tabs of the jar with tabs on the blender base. Make sure the tab of the jar on the left side is in the back of the tab of the blender base and the tab of the jar on the right side is in front of the tab of the blender base. Make sure the jar is seated into position. There is no need for it to be in a locked position since the steps provided will already work. Hope it helps. Have a great day!
