Care & Maintenance
All parts except for the blender base are dishwasher safe. Place sealing ring in bottom basket of dishwasher.
Use a damp, soft sponge with mild detergent to clean the outside of the blender base.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so great I am really unhappy with this blender. It seems to be a powerhouse judging by how extremely loud it is (almost as loud as a Vitamix), yet it does not blend very well. For smoothies, it requires manually putting a utensil in the blender to stir and mix things up. I realize Oster makes a blender specifically for smoothies, but never have I had so much of an issue with a non-smoothie blender when making smoothies. And to top it off, the manual was outside the blender box and the box seemed as though it had been opened and repackaged and couldn’t quite fit as the box was bulging on the top. Very disappointed overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought in 1960. Still works great. I inherited mine from my parents who bought it in 1960. It only has a 500 watt motor but still gets the job done. Making frozen smoothies is tricky but I found a pusher that clears the blades which makes it easier. I'm now in my 70s and I'm sure it will outlast me. I guess my son will get more use out of it when I leave it to him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful We’ve had this blender for maybe 15 years….? I love, wait, loved, it…. I think it died today and need to find one locally! I love the simple design on on, off or pulse. I don’t need 7 settings. I love the glass jar and sturdy base.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LASTED ONLY 4 MONTHS Terrible build quality. The base somehow became cracked, which was not my fault at all, I kept care of it perfectly. I made a blender-full of hot soup, and when I went to take the blender out, the base fell out, and soup spilled everywhere, on the counter, floors, and behind/underneath the stove. Don't waste your money, buy something other than an Oster product, and maybe something a little more expensive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dangerously Noisy I have the original Oster blender bought 30 years ago and this new one that superficially looks the same. The old one still works, is somewhat noisy, but bearable, The new one, however, right out of the box is so noisy that it is unusable without serious hearing protection. I tested it with a professional SPL meter, running on a countertop, filled with a quart of water. The noise level measured at 2ft was 102dBA, which is about as loud as a motorcycle. Unnacceptable for a kitchen appliance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed cover. My wife wanted a new Oster Classic blender with the stainless beehive base. I purchased one at our local Ace hardware as a gift. It cost over $60. It looks great but the cheap lightweight plastic cover does not fit well or seal at all. Liquids blow out all over the counter. My old Oster with the rubbery style cover that I used for decades sealed very well. I’m terribly disappointed in this downgrade in design. I puréed some hot soup per recipe, and even attempted to use 3 layers of aluminum foil under the cover as a gasket and held down the cover, but it still blasted out all over the counter making a mess, and burning my hand. The combination of a poorly designed cover, and the single wide open speed renders this blender useless! It is going to goodwill, we must replace it. 😢
