Rated 5 out of 5 by Arodri66 from This blender was amazing! First of all this blender looks so professional like the ones that they have a food establishments. The blender is an average size in comparison to other blenders. It looks high end like the very pricy blenders one sees at the stores. I have used this blender mostly for making smoothies. I make them at least once a day, sometimes twice. The food processor makes it easier and a quicker process to chop up large vegetables to mix into my fruit smoothies. I am not fond of vegetables and neither are my kids. This is the only way we can get our dose of vegetables each day. I’ve made my smoothies with full cubes from my ice tray and mixed in fruit and vegetables and the smoothies always come out smooth. There are never any chunks of ice or fruit/vegetables in my drink. However sometimes I purposely only blend for a minimal amount of seconds to have some ice pieces. That’s jus a preference when I’m feeling like having some ice to chew on as I drink my smoothies. I’ve also made some excellent Mexican spicy green sauce with tomatillos and peppers. The sauce has came out so smooth and perfect to pour on our tacos or make enchiladas with the sauce.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cris4 from Great blender for all! The Oster Pro Blender with Texture Select is a very helpful product to have in your household. I love that making salsa now is so much easier. Most of the time my other blender didnt blend as well. However oster pro blender, allows you to customize how hearty you want the chunks to be. I like chunky salsa but my husband does not. So I can make small bathes for each of us with the same blender. In addition to that if you are like me and its hard to eat fruits and veggies before they go bad, this is perfect for you. I make smoothies all the time and since the blender is so powerful you can even frozen berries. I make a smoothie with chopped hazelnuts and I wasnt sure the blender could handle it. But I have had no issues in fact they were finely ground by the time it was done. Very impressive. Since it does have a lot of power, it is not a quiet blender to which I do not mind but some others might not enjoy that. But to get the blending you want done right, you need something powerful and this it! This is easy to read and use, you do not need to fumble with parts and pieces. I love this so much I got one for my grandmother because its so easy to use and works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShellyB122 from Fantastic blender! It's the best blender I have ever owned. I love the look of it, the black brushed metal appearance looks great! I love that the base of it doesn't have a million buttons on it, just a knob and a few small buttons, but there are plenty of setting options. I really love that the entire pitcher assembly is dishwasher safe - the blade unscrews from the bottom and can go in the dishwasher along with the pitcher itself and the lid. The pitcher is a sturdy BPA-free plastic, not glass. It's super easy to use, and the settings work very well. The first time I used it was for a milkshake, because YUM, and it's something easy that I could make to familiarize myself with how it works. It's powerful and it made a perfect thick milkshake. I have since used it to make black bean patties, for which I just dumped a can of black beans and a can of Southwestern style black bean mix into. I wanted this to be on the chunky side and it came out perfect. I used the pulse/thick setting for this. It left plenty of beans partially intact and the others were mushed up very well, which was exactly how I wanted it. I honestly love it, I can't think of a single thing I would do to change it. I very much look forward to using it in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed29 from Not worth it. Invest in something better The reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because I haven't had any trouble with the food processor. Works great. However, the blender is incredibly disappointing. I was excited to see the different textures between thin, medium and thick but was disappointed because the thick setting is anything but thick and consistently produces thin smoothies. Not only that, but after the blending is done, regardless of whether I choose the thin, medium or thick setting or manually select the medium or high (don't waste your time with low), the smoothie will have a mild rubbery/burned aftertaste. It also doesn't even blend well - I end up with pieces of frozen strawberry or banana in my drink and when looking into the blender can tell it is only blending at the bottom and not throughout. I remember being skeptical about how consistently positive the reviews were when I bought this on the target website (which includes many of the same reviews that are on here). I didn't follow my instincts because the blender/food processor combo and the different textures seemed really alluring but have now learned the hard way that it was too good to be true for the price. Do yourself a favor and invest in something better even if it's pricier.

My blender died and I started using the new Oster blender with texture control and honestly have been throughly impressed. I use my blender regularly as I drink a lot of smoothies and indulge in milkshakes here and there. The blender holds 8 cups, or 63 ounces. The blender has several different settings with multiple texture options. You can set the blender to make salsa, milkshakes or smoothies the texture to thin, medium or thick. You also have options for speed- slow, medium, or high. When making smoothies, the blender does really well getting through the frozen fruits and making it the consistency I have chosen (typically med to thick). I am able to use blueberries again in my smoothies as this blender shreds the blueberry small enough to get the chunks through the straw without clogging the straw, or getting stuck in your throat. The blender did not do very well on milkshake mode. I attempted to make a thick milkshake and it went through the cycle and when it was finished, the ingredients had barely been mixed. I had ro run the milkshake setting twice for the blender to blend all of the ingredients smoothly. Overall, I would totally purchase another Oster blender with texture control due to the fact that it works so well and blends at different textures.
