However, the black plastic piece that attached the food chopper attachment broke, and I have been unable to find the replacement part. Not sure where to look for this one part. I don't want to buy a whole new attachment because the rest of the food chopper is in great shape.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anu p from Nice product but broke for me earlier than 10 year I had Oster classic 16 speed blender that I used for about 6-7 years. I was a great blender for making things coarse but not absolutely smooth, the frappe was a good feature for crushing ice specially when making cold coffee or smoothies. I could make whipped butter at home with it. The thing that started going wrong with it was that after 3 years of use whenever I made simmering in it the motor the motor would leave a greasy residue in the blender base. I kept would fine with even that but then last year the motor stopped working too.:( I didn’t save the box of it so I wasn’t aware how long it would had the warranty for so I just threw it away. I bout it from Walmart at that time for about $25 and note it is for $99. I wish I knew about the warranty. It was a good product just that the blade thing started to wear off very quickly and then the motor stopped too. I loved the glass jar and how beautiful it was. Very solid glass jar but the base of the jar was nit that good it started to break where the lock were after 3-4 years. I still want to buy something similar or more of same but not sure which one to pick.

I was very pleased with the glass jar. All blender parts can be put in the dishwasher. However, the (separate) manual for the food processor is lacking and from what I gather, the food processor parts are hand wash only. The food processor jar is extremely thin, light weight clear plastic. I do not expect the food processor jar to hold up long term. It’s too bad that they didn’t use glass or a thicker plastic for the food processor attachment. When using the food processor, the handle keeps rotating. I find it odd that the handle does not lock into place. I’ve consulted the manual several times but I don’t see where this is addressed. Also, the base of the food processor twists on and off easily. I had to be very careful not to make a mess when picking it up from the blender so that the base wouldn’t become detached and create a mess. I wish that the base had a better locking mechanism. The “Off” button also doubles as a pulse button. There are two speed settings, low and high, which can be used in conjunction with 7 speed settings. The box states that there are 16 speed settings but they are counting “Off” as a speed and “Ice crush” twice. Really there are only 14 speed settings. The motor is surprisingly powerful. I had no problems crushing ice, dicing produce, or making hummus and smoothies. In conclusion, The Oster Precise Blend Blender Plus Food Chopper is a convenient, easy to use multifunction appliance. I like the prospect of the Food Processor attachment but I feel that it’s not durable enough to hold up long term and that there are several design flaws. However, the blender attachment and the motor should last for years to come. I received the Oster Precise Blend Blender Plus Food Chopper in exchange for my honest review.
