How to Make the Most of Turkey Leftovers

Thanksgiving day may be the main event, but it's far from the only culinary sport going on. Leftovers from Thanksgiving can be just as exciting as the big meal. Here are a few of the best ways to enjoy your extra turkey this year, including classic dishes and fun twists!

Thanksgiving Panini
Forget the old turkey sandwich on white bread and use that delicious meat to upgrade your leftovers to the next level in a "grade A" panini. Slice off some thick chunks and pieces for your sandwich. Add these along with some cranberry aioli, sharp cheddar cheese, arugula and a little stuffing to two thick slices of artisanal buttered bread. Place this cold sandwich on your Oster® Extra Large DuraCeramic™ Panini Maker and let this handy appliance do the rest. In no time, you'll have a delicious gourmet sandwich that might upstage the original meal!

Light Turkey Soup
If your bird is nearly picked to the bone, the right decision may be to turn it into soup. Using the whole turkey and many scrap pieces, you can make a delicious soup. Consider using other leftovers too, such as carrots or potatoes that never got mashed.

Turkey Kale Salad
Eat your turkey cold on top of kale and other salad greens. Add in some nuts, dried cranberries and other tasty vegetables and in no time you have lunch and leftovers all in one. It's another tasty light option that will let you enjoy the food without feeling as full as you did on Thanksgiving.

"Try leftover turkey mac and cheese with jalapenos!"

Mac and Cheese
Yum! This hearty option is a great way to feed friends and family after Thanksgiving without all the effort that the big day takes. Just use your favorite oven-baked macaroni and cheese recipe along with some bite-sized chunks of turkey.

Feel free to get creative with this recipe and add a little kick. Some people enjoy some buffalo sauce and blue cheese in addition to the original flavors while other like the kick from some fresh-cut jalapenos.

Leftover Turkey Curry
You can even use your leftover turkey to make a delicious curry. This is a great way to get rid of your leftovers whether you have one cup of turkey left or five. All you need is your turkey and the customary curry ingredients such as turmeric, coconut milk and peanut oil.
