Celebrate National Strawberry Day on Feb. 27!

Feb. 27 is also known as National Strawberry Day. Although it's not the best known holiday, it's still a great excuse to enjoy a frozen strawberry beverage. Try making one of these drinks at home in your all purpose blender

Strawberry-Kiwi Smoothie
There's a reason strawberries and kiwis are always paired together, whether in juices or pies - they're delicious. Although they're sweet, strawberries and kiwis can actually offer a number of nutrients as well, including potassium, vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, vitamin E and zinc. Here's what you'll need to make your smoothie:

  • 1 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup cut kiwis
  • 1/2 cup nonfat strawberry yogurt
  • Honey
  • Ice
  • Your all purpose blender

Mix your strawberries, kiwi and yogurt in your blender's jar with ice. Blend on HIGH for about 30 seconds. Give it a taste and add honey as needed to make it sweeter. Pulse until ready and pour into glasses. Garnish with a kiwi slice and a few fresh strawberries.

Super Strawberry Milkshake
When you decide to make a strawberry milkshake, you're less worried about the vitamins and minerals and more concerned if it'll taste rich, creamy and sweet. Don't leave anything to chance. Make sure that your milkshake is filled with strawberry flavor and is vibrantly pink. Here's what you need:

  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry syrup
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups strawberry ice cream
  • 1 drop red food coloring

Add your frozen strawberries first, then scoop in the ice cream, add the milk and pour in the syrup and dye. Blend until it's as thick or thin as you desire then serve in a sundae glass with a good amount of whipped cream.

Strawberry Margarita
Ring in strawberry day with this frozen cocktail. Start off by crushing ice in your blender, then pour in 4 shots or 6 ounces of tequila, 2 shots of triple sec, 1 shot of lime juice, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries and strawberry juice as desired. Garnish with a lime and serve in a salt-rimmed glass. Although your blender can make a great margarita, a frozen concoction maker can make the whole process a true no-brainer. Please enjoy responsibly and obey all drinking laws.
