4 Fresh Recipes for Party Guests

A great party requires fresh and festive foods to serve guests. Homemade party dishes don't have to take hours of prep work though - the Oster® Oskar™ 2-in-1 Salad Prep & Food Processor quickly slices through fresh vegetables, cheeses and herbs and it purees ingredients to the perfect consistency in just seconds.

1. Sweet Asian Slaw 
A crunchy, colorful slaw filled with sliced veggies and dressed with a light sauce is the perfect dish to add to your party menu. It can be served with grilled steak or chicken, or can be enjoyed with roasted vegetables for a vegetarian meal. 


  • 1 head cabbage, quartered 
  • 1 red bell pepper, halved 
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, halved 
  • 1 onion
  • 6 carrots, tops cut off 
  • 5 scallions 
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic 
  • 3/4 cup rice wine vinegar 
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil 
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Slice the cabbage, peppers, onion, carrots and scallions into a large bowl using the Oster® Oskar™ 2-in-1 Salad Prep and set aside. Then, combine the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, rice wine vinegar, vegetable oil and sugar using the Food Processor attachment to make the dressing. Pour the dressing over the sliced cabbage and vegetables, toss to combine and serve. 

2. Feta and Orzo Pasta Salad
Pasta salad is a party crowd-pleaser because it's fresh, flavorful and light yet satisfying. This creamy feta and orzo variety, made with fresh herbs and crunchy vegetables, will be a hit at your get-together and can be enjoyed as a side or main dish. 


  • 1 package orzo pasta
  • 1 onion 
  • 1 red bell pepper 
  • 1 green bell pepper 
  • 2 cucumbers 
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil 
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic 
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice 
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt 
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 can chickpeas 
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved 
  • 1 cup feta cheese

Cook the pasta according to the package. Drain and set aside. Using the Oster® Oskar™ 2-in-1 Salad Prep, slice the onion, peppers and cucumbers into a large bowl. Then, combine the olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper using the Food Processor attachment to make the dressing. Add the pasta to the bowl containing the sliced vegetables, then pour in the dressing. Add the chickpeas, cherry tomatoes and feta, toss to evenly combine, and serve. 

3. Mango Chicken Sliders 
A party with your friends and family calls for festive, extra special dishes made just for the occasion. These Mango Chicken Sliders are a fun twist on regular chicken burgers and feature a fresh fruit topping that your guests will love. They're also easy to prepare so you can spend more time with your loved ones and less time doing prep work. 


  • 8 small chicken patties
  • 2 mangoes, peeled and cored 
  • 1 small onion 
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno peppers (optional)
  • 8 carrots
  • 8 small rolls, cut in half

Cook the chicken patties and set aside. Combine the mangoes, lime juice, salt, sugar, olive oil, cilantro and jalapenos in the Oster® Oskar™ Food Processor attachment for 1-2 minutes until just incorporated - there should still be mango chunks in the mixture, it should not be completely smooth. Then, using the Oster® Oskar™ 2-in-1 Salad Prep, slice the carrots into a small bowl. Place a chicken patty on each bun, spoon 2 tablespoons of the mango mixture onto each patty, and top with a handful of sliced carrots. Add the top buns and serve. 

4. Barbecue Shrimp Kabobs
Sweet and flavorful barbecue shrimp kebabs are perfect for any gathering. They're placed onto skewers and served for an easy finger-food that takes minimal prepwork in the kitchen and can be put together in just minutes. 


  • 1 pound large shrimp, cooked 
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce 
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil 
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic 
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons salt 
  • 2 teaspoons black ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Skewers

Place the shrimp in a large bowl and set aside. Combine the remaining ingredients in the Oster® Oskar™ Food Processor attachment for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Pour into the bowl with the shrimp and toss to fully coat. Place 4-5 shrimp on a skewer, arrange on a platter and serve.
