3. Hummus
This tasty Middle Eastern dish is great as an afternoon snack, an appetizer or something that's not so junky during a party. You can easily make your own hummus with your mason jar blender too.

All you need to do is combine washed chickpeas, olive oil, tahini and spices. Some people use paprika while others just turn to salt and pepper. Lemon juice or garlic can also enhance the flavor. Make this hummus recipe your own and play with the ratios.

Just combine these ingredients with your mason jar blender and enjoy the results with some carrot sticks or pita chips.

4. Salsa Verde
Salsa can be expensive if you're trying to get it fresh, so why not make it? To make salsa verde or any variety of salsa, just gather the ingredients you want and roast them in a pan on your stove top. Blacken the edges of the tomatillos and other ingredients (serrano peppers, jalapenos, onions, garlic etc). Cut these and toss them in your blender jar once they're soft. Add salt, pepper, a little chili powder and cumin and blend it until it's the desired consistency.

5. Lemon Poppy Salad Dressing
If you're trying to eat better, salad may be a big part of your plans. And if you don't love eating salad then finding the right salad dressing may be the key you need to make this a habit. Your mason jar blender lets you make a wide range of salad dressings. One delicous and refreshing recipe is lemon poppy dressing. Here's what you'll need to make it at home:

  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • Dash salt
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • Pepper to taste.

Combine these ingredients in your blender jar and blend until you're left with a thin dressing ready to be poured on your salad. Refrigerate the dressing between uses.
