Banana Caramel French Toast
Your family and friends will love this recipe, and the Oster® DuraCeramic™ Griddle will make the toast perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
- 3-4 bananas, sliced
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Dash of salt
- 4 thick slices of brioche or challah bread
- Maple syrup
- Powdered sugar.
In a small pan, heat the bananas, caramel sauce and brown sugar over medium heat until the sugar is melted and the sauce combined. Then in a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla and salt. Dip each slice of bread in the mixture, making sure both sides are completely covered, and then cook on the Oster® DuraCeramic™ Griddle for 3-4 minutes on each side. The bread should be lightly browned but still soft in the middle. Top one slice with the caramel and banana topping, a little powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Smoked Salmon Scrambled Eggs
Smoked salmon is an elegant addition to any brunch, and this scrambled eggs version is perfect for cooking up on your griddle for large parties. The herbs perfectly complement the subtle flavor of the salmon, while fluffy eggs make the whole meal dreamily delicious.
- 1/2 milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh dill
- 6 eggs
- Cooking oil
- 5 ounces smoked salmon, sliced
- Scallions, chopped.
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, salt, pepper, dill and eggs until fully combined. Spray your griddle surface with cooking oil, and then pour on the egg mixture. Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes, then stir in the strips of salmon. Continue cooking until the eggs form lumps, about 4-5 minutes. Spoon some of the scrambled eggs onto a plate, top with a little pepper and a handful of chopped scallions and serve.
Mini Bacon Avocado Wraps
The smoky and salty flavors of bacon pair perfectly with creamy avocados. These mini-wraps are a wonderful savory component to your brunch, and are sure to be scooped up quick by all your guests. They're easy to make, using just a few ingredients, so even if they're all snapped up as soon as you serve them, it takes just a few minutes to make a bunch more. If you'd like to save some calories, swap out pork bacon for the turkey variety - it's still delicious!
- 1 pound bacon
- 4-5 large tortillas
- 2 avocados, sliced
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 2 tablespoons ranch dressing.
Cook the bacon on your Oster® DuraCeramic™ Griddle over medium high heat for about 5-6 minutes, turning halfway through cooking. Lay out one tortilla and top with two slices of bacon, several slices of avocado, tomatoes and a drizzle of ranch dressing. Wrap up the tortilla, then slice two-inch sections down the length of the tortilla to make mini, single-serving wraps. Repeat with the remaining bacon and tortillas and serve.
