You might love spaghetti and meatballs, but there are a few more classic pasta recipes you need to try. With the Oster® 16-Inch Electric Skillet, you can cook meat, garlic, onions or any other ingredients you need with ease.

Here are the top three pasta dishes you need to master:

1. Bucatini All'Amatriciana
This is a necessary pasta recipe you need to add to your repertoire. This delicious, slightly spicy red sauce traditionally uses guanciale, Italian salt-cured pork jowl, but you can easily substitute it for pancetta, which is found in most supermarkets.

  • 1 box dried bucatini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 ounces pancetta, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28-ounce can peeled tomatoes with juice, crushed
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Pecorino cheese
  • Salt

Warm up your Oster® 16-Inch Electric Skillet to medium-high heat. Add pancetta and cook until crisp and golden, around 4 to 5 minutes. Season with red pepper flakes and black pepper. Stir for another 10 seconds. Add onion and garlic, cooking until soft, around 8 minutes. Add in tomatoes, reducing the heat to low, and cook until the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes. Simultaneously, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until 2 minutes before al dente. Drain and save 1 cup of pasta cooking water. Add pasta to sauce in skillet, stirring in reserved pasta water. Cook for around 2 minutes, until sauce thoroughly coats pasta. Stir in cheese, serve and enjoy!

2. Spaghetti Carbonara
For this recipe, you must remember that the spaghetti should be hot and ready whenever the sauce is finished, so that the heat of the pasta thoroughly cooks the raw eggs.

  • 1 box of dried spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 ounces pancetta, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, more for serving
  • 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper

Warm up your Oster® 16-Inch Electric Skillet over medium-heat heat. Beat eggs and cheese together in mixing bowl, removing any lumps. Heat up olive oil and add pancetta. Cook until golden and crispy, around 3 minutes. Add in garlic and cook for one more minute. Remove pan from heat. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to the package directions, around 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water for sauce. Add hot pasta to the pan and toss for a minute. Pour egg-cheese mixture over pasta, stirring quickly until the eggs thicken, but do not scramble. Add in reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency. Season and top with chopped parsley and cheese. Serve and enjoy!
