Thank you for contacting the Oster® brand. We value your continued support on our products and we are glad to answer your inquiry. The average time to preheat an oven to 350° is about 10-15 minutes. Some models may take longer time. The positioning of the elements may also be a reason why the oven is preheating longer. If the heating elements are hidden, inevitably, it’s going to take longer to achieve an even and consistent temperature in your oven. Have a great day!

Thank you for reaching out to Oster®. We are sorry if the top heating element does not seem to get as hot as the bottom heating element. That is not the kind of experience that we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. There is a pre-heating time in this oven in which the element cycles are on and off. Even when an element is on, it may not glow. This does not mean it is not working properly. It simply means the internal oven temperature has been reached, and the element does not need to get so hot that it glows. Even in the Bake cycle, the upper heating elements in a toaster oven will cycle on and off to maintain an even temperature throughout the cavity. If the food is undercooked in the center but cooked on the outside, we suggest setting the thermostat slightly lower than the recommended package directions. If the food is burned on the bottom, we would suggest using the higher rack position. If this has been tried before, we suggest using a light-colored pan like aluminum. If the food is undercooked, lower the rack position. If this has been tried before, change to a dark baking pan. These small changes can make a big difference in a small oven. Your countertop oven has a year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly at https://www.oster.com/support/contact-us in order to help you get to the best resolution.
