Care & Maintenance

Hand Wash
Always turn your unit off, Unplug and let it cool before cleaning. Do not submerge unit in water. To clean exterior wipe with a damp cloth. Use only mild soapy water. Clean the rack, trays and accessories with a small amount of dishwashing liquid and a non-abrasive sponge or cleaning pad. Empty crumb tray frequently to avoid accumulation of crumbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pengylady from Great for a year....now having issues Got this Christmas of 2019....this oven is used EVERY SINGLE DAY and has been great.....until about a month ago. It started taking longer then normal cooking times. I bought an over thermometer and discovered that no matter what function and temp setting combination I use it struggles to get above 350 and then cycles down to about 250 before turning back on. Since neither element has ever gotten bright bright red it's hard to tell which one, or maybe both, are not functioning properly. Very disappointed as like I said this is our daily oven....now I have to go on the hunt for a replacement and that does not make me happy!!

Fell in love with the looks of this one and decided to splurge on it. It burns the food, even when I set the temp for less than the recipe calls for. You have to stay right on top of it to pull the food before it burns. If I put the rack on the bottom slot it burns the bottom. If I move it up one slot it burns the top. It lets out so much heat that it heats up my kitchen and living room (I do live in an apartment and the rooms are not massive). So said I wasted this kind of many, I will have to trash and buy a new no big name brand one again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Annoyed123 from Time button broke after a year and a half I got this for Christmas in 2020. I’ve only had it a year and a half and now the time button is broke. You can still turn it on, but it doesn’t count down and turn off. We had a friend stay and used it and realized an hour after he used it that it was still on. He thought he did something wrong with it. Then, my husband used it and the same thing. For expensive as this was, it’s ridiculous for pieces to break after a short time. From reading the other reviews, it seems the whole thing was poorly built. Since my warranty expired five months ago, I’ll have to buy a new toaster oven again. It definitely won’t be an Oster.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hattie12 from Liked the feature This oven is junk. My daughter-in-law bought me one in January of 2020. I loved it. I could put a 13×9 pan in it. After 3 months, the heating element went out. That upset me. I only had it 3 months. So in March of 2021,I bought me another one, thinking there may have been a defect. It was ok. The timer know came off. After that, we had to mess with it for it to come on. Then the day before Thanksgiving I was using it to make pies and it just stopped working. Very disappointing in this product, and will never buy another Oster product. Over $300 for both and they only lasted a few months.

Twice now while removing hot items from the oven the rack dropped out of the track spilling hot food, one being molten cheese and very nearly burning someone. Contacted Oster on their 800 number and were pleasantly surprised by the response from the rep. She made a point of ensuring that nobody was injured and started a claim as this is a safety issue. Thankfully the store where we had purchased it took it back without question and gave us credit for the full purchase price. While I would not purchase this product again, I have owned other Oster products in past and will again thanks to their excellent customer service.

Sad to check my purchase slip a month after 1 year warranty when we had not even used it much for a few months since it would not consistently stay ON. We had to keep restarting it. Finally, it died completely a few weeks ago. Unfortunately we have been in the middle of health crises and didn't pay close attention to the warranty. We are quite disappointed and did not feel it was worth the high price. Also, the outside gets quite hot and the handles require mitts to open as they get extremely hot. Not a fun surprise! Purchased 3/31/2021 at Meijer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mother Mary T from French door air fryer toaster oven I was really excited to get this air fryer/toaster oven to replace a smaller one that was getting old & didn’t have an air fryer. I really like the French doors, the size & how much it holds. I like to use this instead of heating up my big oven for just the two of us. I have baked in it, and toasted bread. I still haven’t had a chance to try out the air fryer. But by the way it is working, I’m anticipating that the food will brown up nicely. You need to go past the 20 minute timer mark to activate the timer. Read the instruction before using the first time. I’m keeping the instructions close by, although it is simple to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by roadtrekker from Very large air fryer The Oster Manual French Door Air Fryer Oven is quite large, much bigger than any other air fryer I've owned. It could conceivably replace my regular oven. It can easily handle a 12" frozen pizzas, including the pizza pan. When I tested it, the heating elements did not glow red, but the pizza still cooked quickly and evenly. The manual controls are easy to use. I hope the air fryer is durable. Also, I think that the power cord is a bit short at only 2 feet, and the crumb tray feels too flimsy.

No, the plug and cord of your Oster&reg; Manual French Door Air Fry Oven should NOT get super hot during use. A warm plug or cord is normal under heavy use, but if it's getting hot to the touch, that's a sign of a problem, especially since:

Your kitchen wiring is new, so the issue is unlikely to be a bad outlet.

You tried multiple outlets with the same result.

You have another air fryer of the same wattage that does not get hot.

Possible causes:
Loose connection inside the plug &ndash; can create electrical resistance, causing heat.

Internal fault &ndash; like a short or internal resistance creating extra load.

Poor quality materials &ndash; sometimes cheaper insulation or connectors don't hold up well under high wattage.

What you should do:
Stop using the appliance immediately.
