We just bough this electric skillet. One of the main things I make in an electric skillet requires an inch or more of shortening. Upon washing the unit for the first time I see on the BOTTOM of the pan not to deep fry in it. &nbsp;Why?

I didn't take an exact measurement of mine, but the pan depth is close to 3 inches. It's deep enough to make rosettes without touching the irons to the bottom of the pan.
