Rated 4 out of 5 by from A handy waffle maker I like waffles, but I had never made any waffles at home, until I bought this waffle maker. It turns out that it is super easy to make waffles by yourself with this little waffle maker! It features a sturdy black base and a chrome lid with a simple dial and two lights on the top. It looks high quality, clean and professional. It is very light, you can pretty much put it anywhere you would like. The instruction is straightforward. After I took it out of the package, I cleaned the non-stick cooking plate and greased the grids, and it is ready to use. The operation is very simple. All you need to do is to plug it in, wait for couple of minutes for the grids to get warm (the green light will turn on when it is ready), and then pour the prepared batter onto the grids, and close the lid. Only thing you can adjust is turning the dial to make a light waffle or dark ones. I found that the two lights are a little bit confusing. When the green light is on, it doesn’t mean the waffle is ready! You really have to watch the steam, and wait for the stream to disappear before you open the lid. After making several “perfect” waffles, I started getting tired watching the steam. I really wished that the waffle maker came with a timer! Also, based on my experience, you really have to use the high temperature setting if you like crispy waffles. I made couple with the low temperature setting, they all tasted like a pancake. All in all, the Oster waffle maker performed very well through out the days I used it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an easy to use yet stylish, functional, and high quality waffle maker. Disclaimer:I received the waffle maker as a sample to review.
