Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disaster, Disappointment I bought this mixer for the brand name. I was confident that Oster would deliver a quality machine. I was so, so wrong. After less than 6 uses, one of the plastic inserts that holds the mixer blades broke. The blade now won't stay in that side. The mixer is useless. Because I use mixers so rarely, it is out of warranty. In any case, I live far from service centers. and , even if it were under warranty, a trip to the center would be expensive and time consuming. Finally, for the few times I used it before it broke, I noticed that its lowest mixing speed was too high. Material was constantly splashing out of the bowl. What a major disappointment. It's trash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oster has lost a customer I gave one star because I wasn't able to give none and still post my review. I have used my Oster only 5 times and it has never been satisfactory. I had an Oster hand mixer bought in 1975, and it was great, but when it finally died last October, I decided to buy another Oster. However, this mixer is a disaster. One of the beaters will not stay in the mixer. It is useless. When it worked at all the beaters hit each other in an odd way and make much noise. The thing I liked about this was the storage bag, the extra whip attachment, although I wasn't able to use it. Looks like Oster lost it's reliability.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from used 5 times internal parts partk I bought this product a year ago to have on hand as the cheap one i had finally died. I figured Oster was a good brand and would last me awhile. I have used this mixer a total of 5 times since i bought it. This last time, one of the beaters wouldn't hold in the mixer. I thought maybe i was bumping the release button on top, however the one side would hold, the side with the arrow(for the aerator whisk) would just drop out when i turned it over. I heard a rattle inside that didn't sound normal. I turned it over and a piece of metal fell out of the area where the beaters go. See the attached photo. I bought this as I thought Oster was a higher quality product, and I certainly expected it to last more than 5 uses. I guess the cheap ones from Walmart are better, that one lasted forever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful, simply awful We moved at the end of September and since my previous hand mixer was OLD and clearly dying, I didn't bring it with me. I bought a new one in October. I chose a red Oster 7-speed mixer because I assumed it would be fairly high quality and I liked the attachments. I have bought cheaper hand mixers that lasted a couple years, so, foolishly perhaps,I did not keep the receipt. Within a few weeks, I decided I was not very happy with the power of the motor, and the next time I got it out to use, it wouldn't work at all. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. My whole family likes to cook and bake and we have dragged out our big stand mixer or mixed by hand for 5 months. I now researching my next hand mixer and it WON'T be an Oster!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the beaters hit each other I just opened it and went to use it for the first time and the beaters hit each other and it boggs down. I thought I was buying a good one and looked forward to using it for thanksgiving today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, style, power, & quality! My Oster silver hand mixer has quickly become a kitchen staple ! The multiple attachments make this convenient tool a handy assist for many cooking projects, from omelettes to sweets. The carrying case helps to keep all of the attachments neatly corralled so I'm not wasting time searching through drawers for matching components. Most of all, the POWER of this machine is unmatched. The 7-speeds allow you to really select which one is most appropriate for your task, and the electric motor doesn't struggle in the least. I was issued this unit as a sample for testing purposes, and WOW; great quality, value, performance, & style!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed not once but TWICE...so discouraged! I used to buy cheap mixers all the time. Thought I'd "upgrade" and get a little nicer one that might last a little longer. Wrong. I purchased my Oster blender in late October for all my fall baking. By end of November, it had stripped! I thought maybe it was me - maybe I had been using it on stuff that was too thick (even though it broke while mixing frosting-never attempted anything thicker). I went and got a new one. It's been 3 months. I've used it maybe 10 times. Today, I was very careful as I mixed frosting --- very careful --- which I shouldn't have to be with a machine that SUPPOSEDLY mixes dough. Anyway, this time it not only stripped but sent a piece of plastic down the shaft. FROSTING.....soft gooey frosting! Very disappointed- maybe those $5 specials are better?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks and works great The mixer is aesthetically pleasing. The finish doesn't exactly match my appliances but it is a different material. My favorite part is the whisk attachment. It works amazingly well making meringues and whipped cream. The bag it comes with is convenient for keeping everything in one place and is of solid quality. I did worry the motor might overheat mixing the thicker doughs even though I was using the proper attachments. It works better than any other hand mixer I have ever owned and I am overall pleased with this addition to my kitchen. I received this item at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
