Check the following: Is the blender plugged into a working outlet? Is the jar positioned on the base correctly?

It is not common for a blender blade to rust. They are made of stainless steel, but if left in water too long they may rust. To avoid rust, carefully dry the blade assembly immediately after washing.
For best results, we recommend that you hand wash the lid, filler cap and jar in warm, soapy water. Never immerse the base in water.

This could be for one of two reasons.

1. For your safety, if the jar is removed from the base during blending, the motor will shut off. This also applies even if the jar is slightly lifted unintentionally.

2. The built in fuse protection has kicked in.

To turn the blender back on, first turn the control knob to "Off" and unplug the unit from the wall. Then remove the jar from the base and free the blade of any obstructions.  Next, press the external resettable fuse button on the bottom of the base. Wait 30-45 minutes for the unit to cool.

The unit is supplied with an interlock. This will prevent the motor from starting if the jar is not properly placed on the base. The control knob must be in the 'Off' position when the jar is placed on the base.

Fill the container half full with warm water and add 2 drops of liquid soap. Close the jar with the lid and filler cap. Turn Speed Dial on a "Low" speed and then increase to "High". Run for 30-60 seconds. Turn the machine OFF, rinse the jar out with running water then dry.
The blender jar is made from a break-resistant, BPA free Tritan plastic.
Due to the power of the machine, it is normal for it to be fairly loud during operation.
