Rated 5 out of 5 by Alister23 from Stylish and functional! This blender is great! Over the past few weeks I have found several ways to incorporate it into meal times. (All of which have exceeded my expectations!) I've used this blender to quickly make protein shakes in the morning, smoothly blend ingredients to make a pesto sauce, and I've even made homemade salsa with this. My previous blender used to struggle with crushing large ice cubes- this one does it in no time flat! It's functional, high quality, and stylish. On top of that, it's affordable and won't break the bank! Disclaimer- I received a free blender to test out in exchange for my honest and open review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Annie2 from Great for Smoothies! This blender is so easy to use! It blends smoothies in about half the time compared to a personal blender that I used previously. I have also used the blender to puree hot squash soup. It was simple to do in small batches and pureed so smooth my husband didn't believe that I made it from scratch. The silver model looks great on my counter, and is super easy to clean. The food processor attachment was also simple to use (I chopped a big bag of walnuts in no time to use in baking). **Disclaimer** I was given a product sample to review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by verdegal99 from nice blender I felt that this product performed failry well although now quite as well as some I have seen in the $100+ range. It has a good set of features and one nice bonus is the smaller and wider container for chopping vegetables etc.it acted almost as a light food processor and I appreciate not having to get my bulky processor out for smaller lighter jobs. It has a slightly retro/streamlined look that I personally love. For the price it does a great job and I expect it to last quite a while. I received this product as a sample to review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ccarol from Easy to use, great blender!! I've been using this blender for a while and couldn't be happier with it. It looks great on my counter, and works very well. I'm able to make smoothies easily. It blended any ingredient I tried. The ingredients were consistently blended, creating an ideal texture. It is priced lower than some other products available, though works just as well as a high priced blender i've used in the past. All of the parts are durable, and easy to clean. Worked great for soups as well. I received this product as a sample.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sommer from Great Blender This blender was to replace one that my son ruined when he turned on stove (long story). So far this blender has exceeded what the previous blender did and does so much more. While my old one always made salsa, this one does it faster. This one makes smoothies faster too and I really like this. I really don't have any complaints about this blender or any of the attachments that go with it. I have had many enjoyable meals with this blender and will continue to for many years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Gina2 from Very disappointed My family has been using Oster products since I was a child growing up in SouthAmerica. As an adult living in the US I continued my family tradition and do not recal any issues their products I have purchased. In the past the bottom caps used to be of a diffrent material, perhaps metal but not fully certain but what I am certain of is that they were not made of the cheap platic material they are made of now. I recently purchased the classic red blender. I do not cook much these days and only use it to blend my bullet proof coffee in the morning, the bottom cap on both blenders cracked and so I cannot use either one of them. went on their website to see if they had diff options for replacing them but I see all they have is those cheap plastic ones...

Rated 5 out of 5 by DuckieLane from Great value for making a variety of items! Although I’ve always wanted a fancy blender, aka smoothie maker, I’ve never been able to afford the $200-500 professional-grade behemoths. Then I tried The Oster Classic Blender and I’m silently mocking all those folks who spent the big bucks when this Oster would have been more than enough to make their daily smoothies and even more! First, I tried a bagged frozen smoothie kit from the grocery store’s freezer section. It took about 2 minutes to prepare –start to finish—two delicious green smoothies. The blades on the blender had no trouble demolishing the frozen chunks of fruit, and at such a reasonable price, maybe I can be one of those morning smoothie people too! I loved how sturdy the metal base was, the glass pitcher felt solid and safer than inferior plastic models, the lid fit perfectly – not crazy tight, but secure enough for me to feel safe not holding it into the pitcher for dear life, and best of all, the speed buttons are labeled with both the style of blend and what kinds of concoctions work best with the speed. Next, I decided to try the included food processor attachment to make my first batch of homemade hummus in at least a decade. Again, I was blown away with how quickly and easily the Oster Classic transformed a can of chickpeas, tahini paste and a few other ingredients into creamy, unmistakably homemade hummus. From start to finish, I had my hummus ready to eat in less than 10 minutes. I loved the slit in the lit to add extra liquids if necessary, and the lid felt secure as my ingredients whirred around in the food processor. The processing attachment is also sturdy and the blades had no trouble whipping through the initially thick pre-hummus ingredients. Cleanup was remarkably simple, as each component came apart easily for a quick and easy hand wash. The second week I used the blender was a little different. I struggled to successfully blend the pre-bagged smoothie kits, and I wasn’t impressed with the results. It took several stops and starts to come close to breaking up the frozen fruit, and even when adding double the called for apple juice, the results were mediocre. Rather than giving up, I tried using the food processor attachment. This was surprisingly better than using the blender. Although there were a few hiccups, the processor attachment is MUCH better with blending frozen items. On the other hand, the blender works great for protein powder – especially when adding yogurt or peanut butter. Just stay away from adding ice. With a market saturated with overpriced blenders and food processors, the Oster Classic Blender combines them into one very effective package at a price that will leave you feeling as though there must be an error on the price tag. There isn’t – the Oster Classic Blender is worth every penny, plus all those pennies you got to keep by choosing this high quality, reasonably priced dual-purpose kitchen necessity. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some milkshakes to make! Note: The blender was provided to me free of charge to review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Suzy_blender from Chopper didn't last... We have several Oster products including two blenders. We got this one couple years ago with the chopper for processing other foods. However, like others reported, the chopper lids became a problem and then today the main parted stopped spinner. Out of frustration, it's now in the trash. The blender has been decent but the quality of these things is not meant to last. Appliances of the past were made for regular use over years. This do not. Very disappointing. Offering to replace parts doesn't help when you are trying to prepare a meal.
