Oster® Blender Jar Bottom Cap is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why hasn't this been addressed yet? It's now going on the 8 months since we purchased the product to use for nutritional smoothies that require more room than a Magic Bullet. Our 3rd time using it we noticed a small lateral crack in the black plastic part that screws to the glass and holds it in place when attached to the base. After a quick blend, thinking it wouldn't really amount to anything negative, the plastic cracked even more, making a mess inside the base. I just Googled the part number for a replacement and noticed that this has been an ongoing issue now for years. Who do I send my info to for a complimentary replacement part? This is unacceptable for how little use this gets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks too easily I've had my blender less than 2 years, with minimal use. This sucker CRACKED just by setting it down on a marble counter. I did not set it down hard, nor did I drop or slam it down. I simply lifted it off the blender and set it on the counter, it cracked, and all the pesto I'd been making went all over the counter, floor, and me. Maybe spend a little money on more durable accessories? My previous Oster blender my mother got me before leaving for college. I finally retired it 2 years ago, as the engine just couldn't cut it after 33(!) years. Went out to get another Oster, assuming I could trust the brand...yeah, how the mighty have fallen. It's a piece of garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poorly made my original broke - cracked within a few months of use. I bought a new one a month or so ago, and made coffee once, washed it, and noticed it was cracked also.(I only use this to blend butter into my fresh brewed coffee), which I do about 3x a month.) Not the same quality as the oster kitchen center I once owned and used for 27 years before giving away a few years ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT Oster apparently knows this piece {the threaded jar nut} is defective put they continue to sell it on the new blenders and for replacement part. I must have a blender to eat due to dental work, so I will go out today and buy a new blender and it will not be an Oster. Trust has been broken. I will never buy an Oster product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The bottom cap breaks easily Great blender for the price but that bottom cap is poorly designed. I've broken 3 of them (yes THREE) in the last 4 months. I'm buying 2 more from Oster just to have but I had to go ahead and buy a Braun blender (much more expensive) that doesn't have a breakable bottom cap. Such a shame, other than that this is a quality glass blender.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wouldn't need it if... I've had my blender maybe four years. I use it daily to make smoothies, and the bottom cap started to crack not long after I bought it. Today the crack spread to the point that the jar now leaks. Pros: Glad it's available so easily. Cons: That I need it at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bottom cap is junk In mid-March I got out a blender to try out that had been a Christmas gift. I placed some chopped cooked chicken in the jar with some broth and turned it on. Everything was fine for about twenty seconds then it all came out the bottom all over the countertop. The bottom plastic ring split apart. Looking on the website, it appears that this is a frequent occurrence with this product. If you are gullible enough to call the 800-334-0759 "Help" number you are put on hold forever. I waited an hour and no one ever answered. Oster products are off my shopping list permanently.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not happy with cracked jar bottom I am not happy be among the many Oster blender owners with a cracked jar bottom. I remember the days when we could enjoy durable high quality plastic. The blender works, the jar is not broken, the lid is fine, and the blades are good. Why is the jar bottom the weakest link? It is a shame to trash a working blender because the plastic bottom is cracked, but you can't operate the blender if the contents of the jar leaks out of the bottom. Surely Oster can use a type of plastic that is more durable than what they are using. Why do people have to keep buying these bottoms?
