Rated 1 out of 5 by mking from 2 failed in the last 12 months Upon initial purchase, this was my new favorite kitchen gadget. After a few months of occasional use for soups and smoothies, the housing stripped and the the blender did not work anymore. I figured that user error caused the problem, so I bought a second one just like it and promised myself that I'd be extra careful. I have been very careful for the last 6 months and yesterday, while blending a soup, the motor continued to buzz yet the blade would not turn. What a shame! I know that I will not be buying this model again and I hope that at least one of these purchases will be covered by the 3-year limited warrantee that Oster offers on some of their products...

Rated 5 out of 5 by LotsOfLittles from Conveniet, powerful blender! This is a powerful, and versatile blender! The Oster immersion blender will be kept right on my top drawer, so I can easily use it for every blending job. I have used it to make milk shakes, right in the cup I plan to serve it in! I have used it to make salsa, right in the bowl! I have used it to purée soup, right in the pot! The design is perfect, the blades are powerful. The second best thing to performance, is clean up. It practically cleans itself. No more washing my big blender, no more big blender taking up important real estate space on my counter. There's a new blender in town! I was given this blender as a sample to give an honest review, the views are my own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cahappy99 from Good Value I was impressed by the quality of the materials used. It felt sturdy when I unpacked it and, in fact, found it to be a bit heavy on my first uses. I am used to it now, but feel more comfortable using two hands for operating. I like the idea that the blade stick is remove able for ease in cleaning. While it has 2 speeds, I wish the slow speed was a bit slower, especially for trying to make mixed cream drinks. Overall, it is a good value for the money and I would recommend it. I would rate it 5 star but the weight and low speed were slight problems. I received this appliance to try and review, however I would purchase it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dkhddave from I love it !!! I was a little skeptical about this product at first. But the more I used it the more I liked it. I made my own hummus for the first time. It's a great product to use if your making small batches. (Enough for 1-4 people) I also used it for salsa. A lot easier clean up than a food processor. I highly recommend this for a family of 1-4. A friend of mine even told that his wife uses hers for making baby food.(but that's just what he says I've never tried it. (No baby's in this household. Lol) I've even gave one as a present to a single friend of mine. He says he likes it too. Although I received this as a freebie, To test and report on. Everything I've said is the truth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sev911 from Very Handy kitchen help This Oster Hand Blender is a great help in the kitchen. It makes milkshakes with ease and doesn't have any trouble with hard ice cream. Smoothies are another thing I used this Hand Blender for and it worked really well although I used it only with crushed ice as it may have a harder time with whole cubes. I really like the way it comes apart for easy cleaning and the included measuring cup/storage cup. Did not like that the measuring cup was in "mL" only and not "ounces" but that is something I can work around. I did receive this item for free in order to review and overall really believe this is a quality Hand Blender.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GraysonBbman from Was great at first. Broke down after 2 weeks. Loved this handheld blender when I initially received it. I used it to make green smoothies. It did the job however it initially left chunks of apple and spinach at the bottom of the pitcher/cup. I had to use a fork to stir the ingredients around and even then I had to press down unbelievably hard on the blender to get it to chop up everything. It is easy to clean and is really convenient for making single servings. I've only had it for a week so I can only guess as to its durability. Update: After two weeks, something in the speed change button broke or got stuck. Now it only blends at one-speed, but it still functions. Full disclosure: I received this blender as a sample for reviewing purposes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by joanG from Plastic housing split second time I used it I really wanted to love this, but the second time I used this immersion blender, the plastic housing on the blade assembly cracked. I was pulsing strawberries, so it was not over taxing. I would buy another blade assembly but it seems it is just as cheap to buy another whole product. What a waste. Very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by xDaleCooper from You get what you pay for and the plastic melts Great CHEAP Hand Blender and I've had for 3 years and works great BUT first time I used on thanksgiving to make gravy the plastic blade guard melted and deformed. Spend the extra and get the metal ones! Having trouble finding that part and looking like I'm going to have to buy a new one. (should have bought metal in the first place!)
