Rated 1 out of 5 by Heather00 from POOR Design I laugh at Oster's "Designed for Life" tagline. This food processor is horribly designed and two have broken within a matter of less than one month. There is a plastic piece inside the handle... you know the piece... the one that is absolutely necessary to engage the motor. The piece that is so poorly designed that it breaks just from using it. There's no heavy wear and tear here. I haven't been "misusing" it. I haven't been banging in around on the counter nor have I dropped it. It just breaks. Snaps in two, leaving the food processor completely worthless. Oster, I'm giving you one more chance... but three strikes, and you know the rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christopher T from Great Product for Large and Small Food Prep This product is great for food preparation. It provides great versatility and modern styling. It is nice to quickly slice cheese and vegetables when big volumes are needed or for making soup. It was easy to clean in between tasks as well. It has a nice compartment built into the base for storage as well. I will be using this product for a long time to come. It was a great addition to the kitchen and will come in handy for a lot of jobs and replace some items I was previously using! I received this product as a sample to review and I was very happy to have been able too and very impressed by the product. It exceeded my expectations

Rated 2 out of 5 by suezque from Couldn't get clean & found crack I bought the FPSTFP5273-DFL a few months ago at Walmart for about $65 and left it sitting in the unopened box until a few weeks ago. I have misplaced the receipt and I did not register it since it sat for 2+ months. When trying to clean it after using it for only the SECOND time this past Sunday, I noticed that under the seemingly non-removable spindle/stem in the large bowl, there was "gunk" that I just could not get all out. Well, I finally did get it mostly cleaned out. When taking the pics to post with this, I noticed a crack. This is probably how the gunk got in there. That also means it is now unusable. For me, this is a large expense. I guess that's $65 going in the garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PatC from Unhappy I bought this about 2 months ago and loved it, while using it to mix a cake it kept shutting off and than finally quit, I couldn't find a reason, my husband did, the black thing in the handle has broken off, this is not acceptable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CinciPete from Can't beat it! My family has fallen in love with our Oster 14 cup food processor. We have used it a good dozen times already doing everything from shredding cheddar cheese for taco night to mixing dough for pizza on the boys sleepover. It definitely does the job required. The unit is durable, easy to assemble & use, and dishwasher friendly. What more could I ask for. And they even provided a 'secret' compartment to store extra blades. Oster -to me - is a company of extremely high quality. We have numerous other products made by them. The food processor is quickly becoming one of our favorites. Will probably use it today. I received the product as a sample to review

Rated 1 out of 5 by BurkettBaker from So disappointed.....twice. I used my processor several times a week mostly to make fresh salsa and to shred cheese (i.e., nothing to strenuous like bread dough, etc). I bought this one several months ago to replace my ancient machine that finally gave up on me, primarily because of its motor size and bowl capacity. Like others whose posts I've seen, my lid broke with the first chunk of mozzarella I ran through it. I returned it to Walmart and bought another one just like it in hopes that my first experience was a fluke. After two months of babying my second machine, it too has broken. I have never put the bowl or lid in the dishwasher. The chopping features of this machine are fine. The shredding/slicing feature is where the design problem is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ejsuthe from Making salsa is a breeze Couple of things to note about assembly: There are several errors in the instruction manual. It tells you to use the large blade stem (p.9 #2) when using the 5-cup nesting bowl; however, you need to use the small blade stem. The pictures for using the small bowl and large bowl are mixed up so if you are just using the pictures to assemble it you will not do it correctly because it shows the wrong blades. Overall, I’d rate this about a 3.5 – 4 stars. I’ve used this several times and it performs decently and will give some examples of how I used it. I used it to chop a bell pepper for an omelet. I selected the pulse option so that I could have a little more control over how small they got. It was ok but it left some big chunks so I had to run it again which ended up making the other pieces too small for my preference. It was quicker than chopping it but if I was just chopping 1 pepper I’d probably just do it myself so that I wouldn’t have to clean all the parts. (Although, it really is relatively quick and easy to clean.) I also tried the reversible slice/shred disc to slice some bell peppers for a salad. It was really inconsistent. If it is for fajitas or something like that it would be perfect; however, if you want something pretty you’d need to do it yourself. I have not tried it on a block of cheese yet but am excited that it has the capability. I used the 5 cup nesting bowl to make salsa with tomatillos, garlic, and jalapeno and it worked great. It was much quicker than using the hand chopper! I tried chopping almonds in the small bowl and it did a great job. My only complaint is that little pieces of almond flew out of the processor when it was chopping. Not horrible, but something to note. Other things to note: It is easy to clean. It has little suction cups on the bottom to help hold it in place on the counter. It has storage for two blades in the base. You have to store the 3rd blade and the slicer/shredder in the processor bowl. A negative for me is that with the processor fully assembled it is about 17.5” tall so it will not fit on my kitchen counter unless I store the bowl lid and pushers somewhere else. Disclaimer: I was given this processor for purpose of review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lidnajo from SO SAD !!!!!! =( This was the last gift my husband gave me before he died and it just plain is horrible to try to use. I make hummus for family gatherings and church suppers etc. It takes me an hour to get the bowl lined up with the base so the thing will run, often times I just give up and buy it made in the store. It is really sad that the last thung he gave me gives me soooo much trouble that I am going to throw it away. I will never buy or recommend Oster to anyone ever.
